I'm not sure I'd describe Canary Wharf as a village, but I like the idea of a grassed-over Trafalgar Square.

Here are more photos including those without grass. I like it with grass. It probably wouldn't last long, though, with all the traffic TS gets.

That is exceptionally cool. I suspect they could strategically add green space in the square; New York and Chicago have lawns in heavily-trafficked parks (Bryant Park, Grant/Millennium Park) that do OK with maintenance.

I went to Flash Earth to refamiliarize myself with the geography, and the images taken from Google Maps are mad with people. I wonder what was going on. (The other sources are comparatively deserted.)
