Wha? I've never heard of this. Sounds icky and possibly dangerous, but I wonder what it will purify the water of. Could I, say, use it to purify a bucket of water from a lake or stream? And how much to use? Oh, never mind. Here. Cool, good to know.
FYI boiling isn't necessary. 15 minutes at 160 degrees is all that is required. Which is why you can pasteurize water with many simplesolar heaters and processes.
I read something on Overheard in the Office that was exactly like this - two people talking about how to beat a drug test in order to become a cop. It was a while ago and I can't find it now. :(
