16 April 2007

My dog peed on my bed just before I got home tonight. The urine hadn't even soaked in all the way yet. [More:]I've had her since she was 6 months (she's 5 now), and it's been years since she's had an accident like this. Not sure if this has something to do with her emergency potty break at 2.30 last night, or the new bone I got her yesterday, but I can't think of what would have ticked her off enough to have the chutzpah to urinate in our den like that. I just washed the sheets last night; it was a freshly made bed. The mattress is only a few months old. Gah! Dogs!
If she has another odd incident in the next 24hrs I would suggest she see a vet.

Oh, and bed pee sucks.

Yeah, if her pee routine has been different in the past day (sounds like it has) - I would definitely get her to the vet.

Thirding the vet trip.

Yeah, this doesn't sound like vindictive peeing to me.

And yet another good example of why its smart to not let your dog get used to sleeping on your bed (aside from the fact that a big dog, two adults and two children don't really fit well on a bed together).

I hope she's okay but do go and get her checked out.

I'll see how she fares tonight, and if there's another emergency potty request I'll definitely get her to a vet.

afaik dogs dont seek revenge by going potty. this seems like a common misconception
