Hillary Clinton impersonates the 1925 version of The Phantom of the Opera
Obligatory practice drawing by yours truly:

All I could think of was this scene.

Thanks to Interrobang for helping me through the nose-troubles!

That's approximately the expression I bet Bill got treated to after each and every bimbo eruption. Hope the sex was worth it, big guy.

CF that's an excellent repro but i could have done quite well without having to see the original. between you and jonmc i'm really starting to regret clicking on links here today. i'm starting to think i should just do some actual work.

I'm loving your drawings.

what mats said.

on the hillary note... meh. see it's this whole american media double standard that kind of irks me: a dude like, say, donald trump can be a continual dick asshole AND wildly unattractive and yet somehow (despite the odd satiric potshot or two about that THING he wears on his head) he's mainly admired.

on the other hand, a successful, independent and intelligent woman like hillary... granted she isn't a hottie babe, but she's not the ditch witch either (for that i think you'd have to nominate someone like cincinnati's own marge schott) - draws almost universal contempt...

okay unsure where i'm going with this and even if it's a sustainable rant, but i'm feeling nettlesome and snarky today and Pax hit a bit of a nerve...

Thanks, lfr! It's not like I fly a Hillary flag, but the media attention for this photo is out of this world. I feel, if it had been a picture of Pres. Bush or Sen. Kerry, the photographer would have relegated it to wherever Bad Photos go to die. It's somewhat of a double standard.

Sorry to have wasted your time, lfr. I'll reconsider linking similar things in the future. I had thought that since MeCha consists of quite a few single link posts to amusing photos, bunny-related and otherwise, this one wouldn't be much different. I wasn't trying to make any sort of comment on politics; a funny face is a funny face, in my book.

And thank you, Matildaben. Perhaps I should keep them on flickr, though.

Sorry guys.

eh, don't mind me citrusfreak - it's not you that i'm aiming this at, and besides i'm in a pissy mood.

and please, don't apologise - the art is indeed good, and yes a funny face is, indeed a funny face. it's post-worthy, and totally not your fault the news media are panderers of the patriarchy or whatever feminist bullcrap moniker you want to bestow upon it.

kindly also note that i'm not usually a flag-waving feminazi, nor am i typically this offensensitive. i'm merely in a snarky mood at the moment, and despise the media permanently, both items which should be abundantly obvious by now.

CF, I didn't mean anything personal - your link gave me an opportunity to express my opinion. Please post more things that may mildly piss me off in the future, so I may comment on them. There's nothing I like more than commenting on things. I'm sure a bunch of MeChaZens would agree with me! :)

Ok. I don't feel so bad anymore.

Plus I gained two words for my vocabulary: Feminazi and offensensitive.

Awesome.

yes, exactly. what muddgirl said.

why is it that everyone on the whole damn planet is more articulate than me today? actually make that everyday...

*grump*

citrusfreak: you're welcome. i can't claim either. i think both terms hail from the classic 80's political satire comic 'bloom county'. i read it voraciously as a teenager, and it's primarily responsible for my cynical worldview on politics.

I might be mistaken, but I always thought that 'feminazi' was coined (or popularized, anyway) by ex-junkie sex-tourist Rush Limbaugh.

Yeah, I'm saying the same things over and over. Make your own damn Limbaugh joke.

I'm thinking it is kind of like the "Dean Scream", something that gets oh so blown out of proportion.
