Valentine's Day cards/messages? [More:]Am I making this up or was there some discussion of doing a valentine's day card exchange?
I am really hoping we do what we did last year on Valentine's Day. That is still my favorite Mecha day ever.

For those who weren't around then, check out the posts on this page, starting with this one.

I would love to do valentines! I have many I would love to send!

I saw this the other day and wondered if it was MeCha's own Iconomy?

MeCha's own.... ;) Yep that's me. I have a bunch to add, too. And it needs to be redesigned (although the fug and tackiness is on purpose). Just too lazy and unmotivated to do it....blah.

Last year's Valentine's Day here was the bestest day evar on the internet tubes.

I'm not going to have computer access on V-Day. And missing metachat V-day is a real blow.

That's when you're going to be here in ATL, right rainbaby? If you have WiFi at your conference or seminar or whatever it is, you're welcome to borrow my laptop so you can stay connected. I only have it for traveling so it would be no problem.

iconomy, that is a very cool web collection. Thanks. Please let us know when you update.

MeCha's own iconomy came up in MetaTalk yesterday.

And, yeah, last year's VD was the red hots.

Yeah, let's do the anonymous message thing again. That rocked.

*sigh*

Hopefully dodgy left the code around so I can just press a couple of buttons and have it working.

Hah, I didn't notice the MetaTalk thing. yhbc's suggestion wouldn't work though - my valentine site has already been MeFied, so posting it again would be a double post ;)

I also enjoyed it last year. And yay ico!

You tell the girls on the corner that?

I love Iconomy's VD page very much (I got it from stumble upon when searching for a valentine poem a friend wanted me to help her look for), but I don't do holidays, because I take issue with people needing/or only acting on a certain day of the year to tell people they are cared for. If you aren't being that kind to me the other 363 and 1/4 odd days a year, don't be nice to me just because it is a holiday.

*remember my RL nickname is thegrumblebunny, heh :)*

Yes Boring Postcards, I will be in Atlanta. I do have wifi at the hotel, so if it works out, that'd be awesome. You are so sweet!

Why would you be such a stick in the mud when everyone else is so obviously excited about it? If you're not interesting in participating, fine, but don't make everyone else feel like a simp for getting excited over something they've enjoyed in the past.

Wait a second, I am afraid you misinterpreted. I like Valentine's day. I am all for romance and making people feel special.

My point is people send christmas cards, valentines, et cetera to people that they don't even genuinely like, know, or they aren't that nice to every other day of the year and they only acknowldge them because it is a holiday.

Most of us here aren't hypocrites.

Or we are hypocrites every day of the year.

In which case, not being hypocritical just because it's a holiday would be...

I am. I only sent Valentine's Day messages to you people last year because I wanted to get some of my own. That, and I've been secretly playing you all against each other. Heh.

goml, aside from mudpuppie (who is a scheming little vixen, yes she is), I don't think anyone on this site would sent a Valentine to someone they didn't know (at least just a little) or like just because the option to do so was there.

For many, the MeCha anonymous Valentines were a fun way to share some happy thoughts on what (for some, anyway) could've been an otherwise depressing day. Yeah, I know it's a holiday created by Hallmark, and yeah, I know a lot of people think it's a particularly lame holiday.

But to come into a thread where people were expressing enthusiasm and announce how you view such people as needy, acting, and hypocritical is just rude and curmudgeonly.

I, for one, loved the sekrit message thingier and now that I know the lot of you better a year later, I'm looking forward to sending out more!!!

I hope we do it again too. Last year's was great.

Also, some of you will get a paper cards this year. This is because back around the end of 2006 I addressed a bunch of envelopes to a bunch of you people. Then I got on a plane and as soon as I came back 2007 started and, well, the envelopes are still there.
