How much to charge to design a webpage? A friend of mine is doing a VERY SIMPLE webpage for his boss, who is so technically illeterate (sic, heh) that my friend has to show him how to play a DVD on the computer. It would be a simple three-column main page with maybe a couple linked pages. Boss has plenty of cash. How much to charge?
How much fits up the whazoo in small bills?

The greek chorus seems to think a tightly rolled $250 is still mighty easily comfortable.
Oh, those greeks.

Charge the highest of what the market will bear.

Assuming that he's designing this site from scratch, and that he'll probably be providing help with writing content that doesn't suck, I wouldn't charge less than 500 GBP for that.

But that's me doing a business website for a client. A casual job for your boss might require a different pricing strategy.

You can run into problems even on simple pages, so charge by the hour ($50) with some kind of minimum ($300-$400 sound about right).

i agree. $50/hr w/a $400 minimum sounds about right.

if it was for a friend, i'd do it for a six-pack of good beer and an eighth. but that's just me. i work cheap.
