How's your head? An informal poll.[More:] Who has a hangover today, and who is clear-headed? I'm so glad I don't have to drink anymore.
My head is fine (must be because I didn't drink much), but the chair I'm sitting in seems to have a screw loose.

Hungover here.

Definitely going into detox mode after this holiday season.

Ever so slightly hung over. A detox in January is on the menu for me, too.

All clear here. I worked out to shed the beery lunch buzz and stuck to lemony water all night. Good to go.

Only slightly hungover, because I have to go into work this afternoon. We had a great New Year's Eve, complete with fireworks launched from a cinderblock on the street.

Excellent BP! Way to celebrate below the Mason Dixon. :)

Pretty good, actually. I was mixing drinks a bit so I thought I might feel rather oogy today, but no, feel pretty normal.

I'm not hungover, but I am groggy right now and don't want to go to work.

Clear here. Had two pints of homebrew all evening and went to bed before 12:30.

No hangover for me, as I don't drink any more. But a weight-loss plan of some kind is on the cards for me this year (but not until I've finished off the Christmas chocolate).

All clear here too. We celebrated with children and I had a cold, so there wasn't much drinking. I had one glass of wine minutes before midnight. There's a nice bottle of Rosé from France down the drain. It's all I had besides Grolsch beer.

I can't hang with the big dogs in my old age. I always feel ill after a night of drinking.

I drank quite a lot last night, did not get drunk, and do not have a hangover. I am starting to worry about why my tolerance has jumped to Homeric levels.

My head hurts a bit because I'm sick. Also because I'm sick, I stayed in and watched a really horrible movie with my wife. No alcohol was involved.

Lady in the Water is a terrible, terrible movie.

I would have been fine, but the waitress at the little neighborhood bar we went to took a shine to us, and gave us a bottle of (cheap) champagne. Ugh--too much cheap champagne. Hey! Mimosa time!

Really? I am a big fan of Paul Giamatti, but not a fan of horror, so I haven't seen it yet. Thanks for the heads up.

It's not good.
It's not very good at all.

I only had a few beers at home, so this is one year I get to start without a hangover.

I have a bad headache. But I didn't have a drop to drink. So whose hangover am I channelling?????!
posted by bunnyfire 01 January | 12:03
Mild hangover to go with mild amounts of alcohol. January is the no-alcohol detox and cleanse month though.

I'm good, I drank myself sober early in the evening and couldn't get drunk after that point so I gave up and just hung out. Have you ever done that? I mean I was fairly tipsy but super lucid and clear headed and not going to get any drunker. I'm also going to take January off I think.

Now I'm eating Clementines and Cadbury's fruit and nut chocolate for breakfast and I suspect I might have some green tea.

Four glasses of pink moet (so yum!) spaced out between dinnnertime (2) and twele-o'clock-toasting time (the other 2) made me not hungover at all, but the second glass got me kinda tipsy each time. It's them bubbles innit?

A little headache-y, but we're headed out the door to the first of four more parties, so I think I'll be getting a gulletful of hair of the dog momentarily. Woot!

I had two caipirinhas and half a bottle of Veuve-Clicquot, & felt only very mildly hungover.
posted by misteraitch 01 January | 13:13
I had one glass of the bubbly stuff so no hangover here. I rarely drink and when I do I have shown I have a high tolerance for alcohol so I'm sure it'd take a lot for me to have a hangover.

A little nauseous from all the champagne, but new years was simply wonderful, spent with my 3 best friends, mostly just shooting the breeze. I think I shall take a lil afternoon nap.

Me - not so much, although I'm feeling a little off for some reason.

Miko - just fine.

Miko's cat - not well at all. Numerous hairball launchings in the pre-dawn hours. It's like Armageddon up in here.

My head hurts. But I did drink a lot of Jack and Coke and then sang Sweet Home Alabama on the Rock 'n' Roll Karaoke. Ow.

Only slightly hung over. . .overindulged in pinot and sparkling wine early on in the evening, retired to the bedroom and had a nice pounce, and then got up and watched the PBS new years eve special from nashville, retiring just after midnight.

Got up, went to the gym, everything seems in working order still.

Thanks for asking.

My head is pretty fabulous. Kyleg and I split a bottle of champagne last night but I feel great! Champagne usually goes straight to my legs, anyway. :)

Hungover. As usual. Beer & champagne /= good mix. I might hop on that January sobriety train with y'all - I'm definitely on the diet & exercise one and they go together. But I did get up and make hoppin' john & collards & cornbread this morning and I've been lying on the couch ever since, napping and watching MST3K on disc and reading the New Yorker so it's been a lovely, if unproductive, day.

No hangover here - went to bed at 10pm on new year's eve after getting home from the kiddies fireworks and balloon-animal show, then went pretty much straight to bed. Boring old fart that I am.

We did take the kids fishing all day yesterday and got home well into the evening - have you ever tried to shower a four-year-old while he's asleep? Not a task I would recommend.

Oh, dear universe. My head is fine but my stomach is in revolt. The last round of shots last night could have killed me. Well, they did kill my Jan 1st. Not that I wasn't going to sleep in anyway. Sadly, I did not make the mimosas I promised my guests for New Years brunch. We were all trying to recover (our guts, yikes!)
posted by carmina 01 January | 18:29
Clear. Didn't drink yesterday, so many coworkers around with girlfriends and stuff. Didn't want to start the year making an ass of myself, so, no booze.

Today, on the other hand...
posted by qvantamon 01 January | 19:35
Many mimosas, and collard greens and black-eyed peas and cornbread and macaroni-and-cheese and pumpkin cheesecake and all sorts of other stuff later, and I'm fiiiine. Happy freakin' New Year, everyone!
