Piling my entire To Do pile in the middle of the living room floor is a remarkably ineffective way of getting me to do anything with it, but I am amazed at my newfound agility in navigating obstacle courses.

That sounds like the kind of thing I'd do.

Gold medal! Whoo!

This is actually the pared-down To Do pile; all the trash and things have been cleared from it. Since *that* was a full afternoon's work, I'm feeling generally OK with the "sliding pile of useful stuff" aspect of it.

I tend to make lots of "To Do" lists rather than actually do, myself. Sometimes I even list things I've already done just so I can cross them off.

Pips, me too. They still count.

I have actually been tidying and organising my flat for the first time in months. As my gliders are now out-and-about in the evenings (and mornings at the weekends), I get really jittery if there's things around that might hurt them.

If it carries on this way, I might not shudder in fear and make excuses if people want to pop round to my place.

I know, I used to be hyper-vigilant about keeping things tidy, because I grew up with cats who would get into everything. Once I started realizing that my current cat is completely disinterested in destroying anything other than paper, I got a lot messier.

Yeah, that's why I'm really tidy too, occhiblu -- one of my cats treats piles of ANYTHING as a litterbox. She once peed in an open box containing nothing but dumbbells.

That got a real live *snort*!

We might have a few things here 'n' there that are on their way to where they belong, but we tend to be fairly tidy. Well, tidy as long as you don't look in the mister's office. However, the vaccuum and dusting rags don't get used as often as they should. But the bathroom and kitchen are kept clean and sanitised and that's good enough for me.

Now you've done that, it's time to slowly start moving the stuff back into the corners.
