I mean for hell's sake, it's only paperwork and simple paperwork at that. you could train coelenterates to do this stuff. how is it that not only do they all frequently get it wrong, but to add insult to injury - we're six months along the road with 'permanent hire' cookies continually being dangled just out of reach and we still have to smile and deal with daily passive-aggressive asshattery from the incompetent pile of wankers we're continually promised we're 'gonna be replacing'.

*sigh* I can't even work up the piss and vinegar for a proper shouting thread, especially considering the recent rash of bunny unemployment. i should be thankful I have a job, right? i mean 99% of the time I dig this gig, but for some reason today I feel like i'm being slowly sucked downward into a giant gaping blackhole of meh.

*skips to suicidal tendencies on the ipod and kicks the litterbin over on her way out the door*

thanks Pips that's a stellar idea actually. just got a call from a friend who broke a collarbone last night, so I'm going to drive (gasp!) to denver and help him do some shopping and just generally rally round as he's both carless and drugged out of his wits, so his mobility's not so good.

i've heard nothing but good things about the St. Vincent's in Cap Hill (denver art-school community), and quite frankly the thriftshops in Boulder aren't all that sooo...

hey, this dude i work with broke his collarbone lifting weights and didn't even know it till a day later when they x-rayed. he thought he'd just pulled a muscle. he started running again in maybe three weeks and lifting again in six. he's not a jock or anything, just tough i guess. weird. didn't run or lift at all till a year ago.

Actually, no. They should be thankful to have you as an employee. You're smart. You're conscientious. You know how to get along with people. They should value you and do what it takes to keep you. But instead, they've wasted your time and taken you for granted.

So keep looking. Making you wait six months (and months and months and months . . . ) for permanent status indicates that they aren't that serious about the working relationship. So why should you be?
