(Miko and I just saw the Big Chill for like the hundredth time for both of us, and I'm still high from it.)

See, the deal is, some of us really are Big Chill aged folks. We were mid-30's in '83, and we're getting bald headed and big bellied now, and movin' to Florida, and it's just not pretty. Nobody wants to volunteer to be a baby daddy any more, and few 50+ year old women want to be a baby momma, even if they still can. Hip hop and all happened in the meantime, too, and our new soundtrack would be depressing as hell. Besides, I look ridiculous in running shoes, now, and I can't stay up late, or drink like I used to, and I haven't toked up in decades, 'cause it makes me both ravenous and sleepy, and nothing good comes of that.

It was great, when it was, but it already was.

On preview and further reflection, if there are any scenes open in your remake, where I'd get to nuzzle a doe-eyed Glenn Close, I'm your man. Where'd I have 'em call, to have my people talk to your people?

It's OK, LT. Our generation's version of the big chill will be even more interesting and more twisted, provided we all live that long (which is why I reserved the role of the dead guy, I figure I'll die young and it'll be fun watching people who hated me lie over my grave about me).
