Three Point Status Report 1) My boss sent me out to deliver a letter, which means...[More:]
2) I shopped. ;)
3) I bought a cute silver ring with amethyst cabochons on it and a red, handwoven, raw silk scarf for throwin' on my head when I go to mosques and stuff!
1)I shopped too (wedding presents for myself): a silver record pendant, saw blade earrings, and a Modesto Nuts cap. The pendant and hat have shipped already, the earrings not yet.

2. My hair came out nice today. Got Dave Navarro forelock action happening.

3. They're hooking up our new gas stove tonight.

1) Cable Guys came today and fixed me up with internet, telephone and basic cable. That'll show BT for messing me around.

2) It's a grey cold day. Very soon I will be able to wear my long black coat again. I'm looking forward to this event with more glee than is natural.

3) I made an everlasting stew on Saturday. (Keep adding ingredients and recooking until you're sick of stew.) I ate the last of it last night and my dreams were Fierce. I wonder if it's actually OK to recook quorn.

1. My new glasses (same as the ones that were nicked last week) are ready for collection.

2. My psoriasis is wicked bad right now. I feel like I should be ringing a bell and shouting 'unclean, unclean'.

3. I was just allocated a new case brought by a Mr S Butt, so the first thing I did was check to see if his first name is Seymour. (It's not.) I sometimes wonder if I take my job seriously enough.

1. I'm still in bed. I'll get up and take a shower soon.

2. I have a preapplication conference with the city of Portland today, for a condo tower project my firm is proposing. It will surely be embarasing, because despite what I told the project architect, he designed the buidings at three times the height limit. They're going to call us n00bs and tell us to stfu, no doubt.

3. I'm meeting an old friend for drinks after work, to see if a job he has at his firm is something I'm interested in.

Not NTL, I hope...they've got messing customers around down to an artform. I'm with them...still...only because they offer you half off if you threaten to leave.

1. Working from home for a week straight is really bad for my hygeine.
2. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow. Eeeeeeeeeeeee.
3. But I'm also going to see my favorite comic, Tom Shillue! Yaaaaaay!

1) Photography class is great.
2) I don't know how I'm going to get my next assignment done in time for Monday if I'm out of town all weekend, since I work full-time and it takes several hours in the darkroom to work up an assignment.
3) I've got a print from Assignment #2 up on Flickr.

1. Tomorrow I'm driving to Atlanta to try out for Jeopardy and I'm really nervous and I haven't studied at all but I don't really care, except I kind of do.
2. On Thursday I might well be interviewed about local politics on CNN thanks to BoringPostcards and I'm really nervous and I haven't studied at all but I don't really care, except I kind of do.
3. I'm way behind on answering any emails, like months in arrears, and I do care, except I kind of suck at returning people's emails, so, uh, sorry about that, everyone. I do love you all!

1. I was in my public library today and someone had sneaked an anti-abortion postcard onto the noticeboard, and I took it down and gave it to a staff member, who thanked me and said they've had problems with guerilla postcard-stickers recently. I'm glad I did something as the postcard made me mighty angry (a gruesome picture with the caption 'would women choose this, if they were aware what the real choice was?' - way to credit women with intelligence).
2. Reflecting that I've spent too much time alone recently and I should take steps to change this.
3. Mortgage is approved and, barring disasters, house is bought! Hurrah!

Good luck on the Jeopardy audition, mygothlaundry. I once auditioned and passed, but was never chosen. Be as interesting and as TV-friendly in the "live" part of the audition (where you are actually playing Jeopardy against others) to increase your chances of getting to the Show.

1. My cat is glued to me. When he isn't parading between me and the keyboard he is sitting on my chest draped over my shoulder. Which is cool because he purrs and is happy, and I'm glad he likes me. However, he weighs almost 20 lbs.
2. My client meeting tomorrow AM was postponed. Which is cool since I've been traveling every week for 3 weeks and I love fall at home with Mrs. Chewy.
3. Did I mention I love fall? temps are dropping, there's lots of football, and I see chili and pumpkin pie in my near future.

jonmc I love that Modesto Nuts cap. My favorite dart flights were a walnut in a straightjacket. I should dig 'em up and scan 'em.

1. Bored at work. Right after the bonus is paid out at the end of the year, if things haven't changed, it's time I did. (big changes are afoot, but it might not mean much in my dept.)
2. Had a good weekend, helped a good neighbour out with a fencing project, got some work done in my garage interior, hiked with the girls again, had a lousy dinner with the in-laws, but that was the only sour note really.
3. Have an owee on my palm from above-mentioned fencing project. Gouged a hunk out. It hurts, but I am not going to compliain, because I am not in the same boat as recent mechazens in terms of owee-severity.

1) New stove! (Anyone have a good recipe for oatmeal scotchies?)

2) I had one of those panic-stricken dreams I usually have about missing final exams, except, in this one, I was running late to our wedding. Some paramedics took pity on me and converted their ambulance/station wagon into a taxi, but I was never gonna make it... I woke up in a sweat and was terribly relieved when I realized, wait, we're already married.

3) Dictators at the next-to-last CBGB's show Friday night! Kick-ass!

1) Played music with The Harvey Girls over at their house on Sunday! Woo! They are, as I had suspected, awesome people.

2) There is an electric stapler in the office. It was behind some folders. It makes a chunking noise when you stick paper in it, but no staple is actually delivered. I think this is why it was behind those folders.

3) butts lol

1) Bought some new makeup last night that wasn't powder or liquid, but some sort of unnatural hybrid. It makes my face feel both dry and oily at the same time. But it's a great color!
2) Looking forward to drum set shopping this weekend, although I don't think I'll buy anything.
3) Getting obsessed with NDcents NaNoWriMo novel idea...

BoringPostcards can get people on CNN? Tell us more!

Good luck with CNN and Jeopardy, mygothlaundry. Being on tv is interesting and a rush!

1) I spent three hours in the library today, reading stuff for and writing a few paragraphs of an article.
2) I also wrote an email to my supervisor, telling her what I've been working on.
3) I had to spend some time today sorting out the mess my coworker had created. It wasn't really a big deal, but the fact that it was the second time something like this has happened in the past week could be a slight cause for concern.

1. It was my birthday yesterday.
2. It was my car's birthday Saturday.
3. We got a present we both can use- got the car windows tinted.

1. Still in more pain than ought to be allowed on any sort of constant basis; on the other hand, have gotten really, really good at avoiding The Sneeze.

2. Have a deadline at the end of the week.

3. This poses a problem because, well, painkillers.

1. Got my 'scripts refilled
2. Eating Cheetos and chocolate chip cookies for lunch
3. The mister is home sick today and I keep checking to make sure he's still breathing

Update:

1. I got dressed (pale blue shirt, grey tie, black jacket and pinstriped grey pants)

2. Didn't go to the conference, because the boss didn't want to intimidate the city. Meanwhile, learned about a HUGE fuck up with a building project I'd assisted on. Not all my fault, but if feel absolutely horrible for not catching it sooner.

3. really don't want a drink now, but definitely want a cigarette.

1. My iPod died (HDD).
2. The CD drive in my notebook died (as I found when I tried to import some CDs onto my notebook to listen to at work while I get the abovementioned iPod fixed).
3. The CD player in the car I drive to the train station every day died.
3. The latest house plans that we got sent yesterday from the designer (the "final" ones with the last 2 insignificant changes on them) have been based on an earlier version of the plans, wiping out all the changes we have made to date. I am *this* close to sending her boss an e-mail asking for someone else to be assigned to our job, because every two steps forward we take, we take one and-a-half back.

Yeah, that's 4. Whatever.

1. My father-in-law is not himself. (Long story, heart problems, etc.)
He could possibly be mixing medicines and endangering himself.
2. My husband is sleeping over there twice this week so he's not alone.
My father-in-law's fiancee only comes home on the weekends.
3. I'm having guilt feelings over my feelings about this.
My father-in-law is capable of getting around, but hates to be alone, has no interests or hobbies at all, and won't eat unless someone else makes it for him. I'm torn between feeling bad for him, and being angry that he's just feeling sorry for himself. So mostly I'm mad at myself.
