I bought one of these a few years ago, and it really is a wonderful piece of kit. I am a natural slob and used to just shove everything into the drawers, but I find it nice and relaxing to flip-fold my t-shirts and sweaters and stack them all away. And it saves on ironing, which means that the inventor deserves a Nobel prize.
I am so sorry to disappoint you, Doohickie. Why don't you do a search on the one that you really wish I had posted instead? I think it was madamejujujive who posted it at MetaFilter but I could be wrong.
essexjan, that looks like a much nicer version of the cardboard one in the video! How funny. It's like the guy in the video decided to make a crappier version of it, for free. Which is cool.
yeah... I need to get mah man to build me one of those (because I'm too lazy, and he just loves to be useful - I keep telling him). After I saw the other video back when, I spent a week folding things using The Method... then went back to stuffing things in drawers.
So weird that you would say that, taz - I was actually thinking of posting an AskMe about ways to keep clothes organized. No matter which combination of drawers and closets and floor (hee) I use, I can't manage to find anything, or put together an outfit. I hate it! I don't know what I'm doing wrong. The only thing that works, truly, is for me to make a big, folded pile of all the things I wear, and keep that pile on a chair. For some reason, I have to see ALL of my clothes at a glance to be able to make heads or tails of it and come up with an outfit.
It really can't be that difficult to manage one's clothes. It's just CLOTHES.
iconomy: The original video from MeFi didn't work for me; I was hoping a new, improved version would teach me how to fold a t-shirt in, like, no time flat.
