Well, we're staying at the Gershwin Hotel, which is near Broadway and 27th. The last time I was in New York was about eight years ago, so I'm not too knowledgable about where to go. Suggestions?

My default Friday bar is Bull McCabe's on St. Mark's in the East Village, since I get out of work early and it opens early. It's a nice bar (with an out door patio in front and in back for smoking).
