What do YOU have, my dear bunnies? [More:]

Bad things I have:
1. Many mosquito bites.
2. A blister on my right heel.
3. A less-than desirable lunch in the fridge.

Good things I have:
1. My mom visiting.
2. Enough work to keep my busy as a bee.
3. The newly-discovered ability to draw complicated wall sections.
P.S. Thanks for the postcard, gaspode!

Bad:
* New vehicle having problems and I was four hours late to work today dealing with the dealership and the car rental place.

Good:
* The car is still under the bumper-to-bumper warranty so whatever's wrong (as long as it's not the timing belt or some other "regular maintenance" item) will only cost me a $50 deductible.

Bad:
I'm cranky and full of hate.
I will never finish my PhD, doomed to be a debt-riddled student 'till I'm old and no longer in possession of my own teeth and hip joints.
Dom is writing up...he started when I started.
The anti-chicken secondary is being a cross-reactive jerk.

Good:
I have some food in the fridge.
The credit card companies haven't figured out that I make a negative income (hopefully they won't for a while).
Its not cold out.
I haven't cried today yet.

Good:

- my awesome roommate - who, after busting his arse in +90 degree heat to win a 2-hour mountain bike race on Saturday, paid me back for sherpa-ing, driving and being a general body slave for him all day at the race by fixing the Best. Ribs. Ever. at his friend's house so we could both catch the final TT of the Tour.

- a completely MINT friggin clean condo after we both went BatShitInsane yesterday with the cleaning products and the vacuum, which had the amusing side benefit of freaking out the cats.

- I dropped a skinny twentysomething boy like a bad habit on a long steep climb during yesterday morning's road ride. I used to be a comprehensively suck climber, but that was like forty pounds ago. rude and evil yes, but it felt sooooo good.

Bad:

- on the same road ride I got stung on the neck by a bee. fortunately I'm not allergic but it kinda sucked.

- yesterday was the second day in a row I've encountered and had to make pleasant chitchat with my x's annoying asshat best friend.

- the battery in my stupid keyless fob died for my stupid car that I never drive. which only sucks because it means I can't set the security alarm now that I've moved the car down the street so they can seal our parking lot...

3. a car on it's last wheels - hold on Barbie Jeep, hold on - you are paid for and you SENSE that, don't you? Or is it 150,000 miles you are sensing? Hold on, I need you, BJ. . .

Good Things I Have:
1. the gnarls barkley cd

Being in my body right now feels like living in the wreckage of what was once beautiful and functional and is now slowly but surely coming apart. Everything about getting older is good except that.

Good:
1. A job offer. Yes, a job offer, for me, woot! Dag! Astonishment! A job . . at the SCIENCE museum! Which has dinosaur bones and fossils and geodes and a spinny weather thingy!!
2. Soon, Chinese food and I don't even have to drive over & pick it up.
3. Kids and dog and cat and garden and mom and friends and even annoying brothers & cousins, all more or less healthy. Not a small thing.
4. the computer hasn't crashed yet today but shhhhhhhhhh, probably I shouldn't say anything

Bad:
1. Cramps, yargh.
2. Necessity of soon getting new computer and/or cobbling this one back together somehow.
3. The way my subconscious mind took a vow of poverty, chastity and possibly obedience at some point when I wasn't looking. Damn poverty, chastity and obedience! Damn them, I say!

Bad:
1. First day back at work after a great weekend
2. My "back up" at work did nothing while I was gone.

Good:
1. My liver is still, surprisingly, functional.
2. My limbs are still, surprisingly, functional.
3. My mind is still, surprisingly, functional.
4. I have a comfortable chair on my porch that I sit in and read and move from shady spot to shady spot as the sun migrates across the sky and, well, that's about as close to heaven as anyone can get.

Bad:
1. I have four point three squillion things to do at work and approximately 44 days to do them all.
2. My stomach is still as dysfunctional as it's always been.
3. I have no idea where I'm going to come up with the money for the holiday that I so badly need right now.
4. I'm in the middle of the bi-monthly severe depression part of my broken brain chemical mood swings and that makes it damn difficult to do much of anything, especially in this heat.
5. Low self esteem! Whee!
posted by cmonkey 24 July | 20:14
De nada, pips! Thanks for letting me drop by!

Good:

1. Finding out that my other is now unattached.
2. The evil super is gone.
3. There were blueberries at the Union Square greenmarket today.

Bad:
1. A poem of mine was printed without my having a say in how it was edited.
2.The bully on the condo board has carte blanche to go through the new super's office and I just found out that a crucial insurance form--that I KNOW I turned in-- has conveniently gone missing. I can't put in the application for renovations without it.
3.My choices for finding out what's causing the leak downstairs from my guest bathroom are to punch a hole in my bedroom wall or to remodel it back to the way it was when the place was a rental.

Unsure:
I've just signed up for a gym membership and it looks like ellipticals have mostly replaced stationary bikes.
Can I read on those things?
