OMG I'm joining a gym! I am going to die. :(

But I will look fabulous!
So you're going to leave behind a good-looking corpse then?

What kinds of exercises are you going to do?

Oh, mostly weight-training stuff. I started running (well, trudging, really) but I like to do that outside and not on machines.

Hah...trudging! That's what I do. I'm not a natural-looking runner at all. So awkward.

i have two gym memberships now. i figure, the more i collect the better shape i'll be in as i sit on my couch watching the daily show with a beer in hand.

freudianslipper, you are the member gyms dream about. Pay your dues and don't use the gym. Oh yeah, we loved your memberships!

I used to be a personal trainer and got severely burned out on health clubs. I bought a Bowflex years ago and still use it three to five times a week. And now I'm getting my cycling back in now that my two year old loves to go riding with me (loves isn't strong enough, he begs to go for rides with me!).

psho, I'll give you my favorite and best piece of working out advice. If you're doing sets of 12 reps, count to six and then finish the set by counting backwards. So that, when you're halfway done, you can work back towards zero.

lol, well, one of them comes free with work. I only am using it for an alternative for yoga classes.

but yeah, i do need to use my gym more. arg.

It is my new goal in life to have a butt like Jessica Biel's. I saw a photo of her on some site yesterday and was immediately inspired to do some squats.

The guy who sold me my membership still looks absolutely shocked every time I come in (at least three times a week.) Of course, I always feel like I should get a commission whenever they're showing someone who's really out of shape around the gym. I do wonders for their whole "we have people of all shapes and sizes and all fitness levels here" spiel.

iconomy, an admirable goal for sure!

For my own part, I added another circuit to my workout last night and am going to be biking my son either to or from daycare (since he loves, loves, loves going on the bike).
