27 June 2006

I am tired and it took me two hours to get home thanks to London Underground... [More:]but today I saw the Strandbeest!!!

I took lots of pictures, talked to the artist about how thrilled I was to see them in real life after first learning about them on the internet a few years ago, he let me operate one of them (OMG!) and I was interviewed for a documentary that's being made about it and which will also be on teh intarwebs at some point in the future.

This makes up for missing The Sultan's Elephant last month.

Pics will be posted tomorrow, I am too tired now.
Cool, EJ! Go get some sleeeep!

Just be glad you didn't have to go back to Cambridge. King's Cross is closed which is throwing all the GNER and First Capital Connect Great Northern services out of whack.

essexjan I now worship the very ground upon which you walk. I LOVE the strandbeest - it's my all time favorite sculpture!!!! Was he nice? How cool taht you got to operate one. Wow. I'm green. With envy, not nausea.

He was very nice, even held my backpack while I moved the beest around. He was delighted at the reaction the sculptures had provoked and was also surprised at how many people knew of them from the internet.
