But the Good Dr. band must give a lot of credit for their success to the distinctive songwriting ability of Shel Silverstein (all three of those songs were Shel compositions).

Dr Hook used to play a yearly concerts at local amusement park when I was a kid. Though the park was about two miles away, across two neighboorhoods, you could hear it clear as a bell from the playground behind my house. Just sit on top of the jungle gym.
