This is a syrupy-sweet, melancholy, nostalgic thread [More:] After drinking a couple glasses of wine and clicking on the Mr. Softee jingle on MOOKIE, I got all syrupy inside. Hope me, Metazens!

(Are ya proud of me, dodgy? I remembered the More Inside this time!)
the music above is playing in the distance. children call and laugh as gthey run toward an ice cream truck.

there are dragonflys there. i am running through tall green grass. the sun sparkles through the trees behind me while i run, my missing iPod nano in hand.

Oh, my nano . . . where did you go? Why did you disappear on me. Did i offend you with bad music? Should I have bought you a Coach leather case? Tell me how to make it better. Come back. Come back to me.

That's it, jelly.

You nailed it. My only regret is that I cannot hope to equal your performance.

Maybe I've seen one too many bad straight-to-video thrillers but the only thing that song conjures up for me are visions of serial killers. Serial killers in clown costumes.

Doo, did ya loose a pod or a loss of something much more precious?

Actually, the only thing you nailed is the feeling; I haven't actually lost anything... I was just feeling nostalgic and melancholy.

That melody has the same effect on me, Doo. It's the backdrop to just about everything I do (thanks for the link). It's there when I wash dishes and there when I'm reading a book and there when I'm dozing off for an afternoon nap (I'm mrs. excitement at home)... mixed with the sounds of kids playing in the driveway/alley behind our apartment, it definitely can turn the old innards to goo... something resembling Ghost Buster slime...

I do miss the old out-of-tune Pop-the-Weasle melody the ice cream trucks in Bridgeport, CT, used to have, though...

Buy me a toasted almond? : )
