I hate wearing shoes. These little piggies like to be free, free, free...all the way home.

(And yet, I bristle when asked to remove my shoes at someone's home. It feels a bit invasive and makes me think they're uptight.)

I couldn't agree more. God, I hate being asked to take my shoes off. I will not let new carpet control me!

My wife broke her small toe yesterday. No big deal; tape it to the next one over. It's feeling better today. Unrelated to the broken toe, she had trouble sleeping last night, so she took a nap this afternoon. During her nap, she kept dreaming the broken toe was falling off, and each time it did, she had to screw it back on. When she awoke, the first thing she did was check to see if all her toes were there.

For some reason I felt compelled to share that.
