I couldn't track down the MIME-type for deviled eggs. I hope a few songs will suffice.

Vivek Shraya, "The Alphabet"
Full disclosure: V's a good friend of mine, and I maintain his website. That said, I got to know him through and because of his music: he's an immensely gifted songwriter. This one features backing vocals by the lovely and talented Tegan Quin, of Tegan & Sara.
The World/Inferno Friendship Society, "All of California and Everybody Who Lives There Stinks"
Don't get me wrong, I'm actually quite fond of California and Californians in general, but this song is eleven kinds of Way Too Much Fun, even if it might take a couple of listens to get into. World/Inferno might go down as my favourite musical discovery of '06.
Gregory and the Hawk, "Isabelle"
Tender acoustic ballads with tentative female vocals are my Kryptonite; having been raised on country music, I've also got a soft spot for songs from the "other woman" POV. If you're me, this song is almost perfect. If you're you—well, it's a damn fine song in any case.
The Dresden Dolls, "Mandy Goes to Med School"
Because nothing livens up a Thursday like jazzy piano tunes about back-alley abortionists, am I right?
