02 February 2006

Went for my nightly walk and the sky is clear and the stars are twinkling. Mars is particularly festive for this time of year and the F-18's thunder low over my head setting off every dog in the neighborhood as two heavy air to air refueling transports lumber high above like fat Vegas-bejeweled dancers. [More:] F-16's from Selfridge MI, F-18's from Bagotville PQ, CH-146 helicopters from Kingston ON, Canadian AWACs and US air refueling tankers are out tonight. In this, the income tax season, it makes this bi-national tax payer's heart happy to know he is in some small way paying to support the orgy of consumerism, celebrity worship, lapdog news reporting, juvenal analysis pieces and mediocre football know as the superbowl.

Ain't the free market grand?
Hey, no sharp feelings here please. I just come from the blue and I'm tired. (of course if you must, you must).

I like the stars part. Two nights ago I was playing soccer out on the lawn with wonderboy. We were amazed by a brilliant little crescent of a moon poking out over the neighbor's trees. There is so much to see at night.

Next time it rains I am teaching him to hunt nightcrawlers.

That's easy. Walk around barefoot and when you feel something wiggle, pick it up with your toes.
