those folks have no join date, therefore no number of days can be calculated, therefore no valid contrib index can be extrapolated.

Wow, I've barely commented in the past few months, and my contribution index is still 1.5.

I'm still #54 on the Top Contributors List, right behind taz. Thank god I've never been that commentative.

dan's script used to account for the "sometime in 1999" comment. I suspect that when mathowie changed the page header, that screwed up the scraping regexp.

reminds me, i never did finish my project to estimate how much of the membership is active in threads at any given point in time.
