This reminds me of MAD magazine from the 1960s. They had a piece about quoting movie reviews by selectively using ellipses.

am i the only person left on this planet who thinks that the mcsweeney's comedy pieces are basically the least funny things ever? the older sister bought me 'created by troubled americans in times of darkness' or whatever, and it's maybe 150 or 200 pages. there are about three, maybe four things in there. the rest is just godawful stuff.

these guys seem to come up with one bad joke, and then just painfully plod through it over and over again. is this a formula i just don't get?

plus, dave eggers sucks big time.

Which were the three or four good ones? We may be needing a knife fight here.

i only know these short pieces on the site, and the anthologies (Thrilling Tales, etc).

This made me smile, and relax a little (it's been stressful around here). Rachel's 'A Tragedy' moves on so many levels.
