Look, I miss jonmc and hope he's okay and all, but→[More:]
what I really want is to talk to him about how Richard Price, in The Breaks, used his own interview with Dion in Rolling Stone, and the Staten Island supper club show that followed, as the basis for the entire boy-star pilgrimage fiasco. Great stuff!

Hope you're up and about soon so's we can bullshit about Dick Price over cold beer in warm Antarctica, as God intended.

Now that's he's unconscious or in unbearable pain...

I think he said he was scheduled for 6 am, so right now he is actually laying in a hospital bed squinting at some lime green jello and wondering exactly what the fuck kind of vegetable hell these communists are trying to trick him into eating.

I am about six minutes away from ripping the top off a few cans of something cheap (I wish I could say in his honor as opposed to because that is what I do) and I will NOT spill a drop on the ground cause I know he wants it that way.

I talked to jonmc last night on IRC. He said he went under at 6:30 and the procedure lasts 4 to 5 hours. The procedure is fairly routine by now, but he will spend the night in hospital. He also said he would try to get out a shoutout sometime this evening if at all possible, but I don't really know what that means.

I told him to make sure he gets a hospital t-shirt.

What a scary thought! When I get ready to get out of a hospital, I go on a hunger strike (not that hard really), I let my nurses and doctors know it, and usually it works.

I totally hope the Percocet is effective and jon doesn't get shorted on the script for home use.

:D I also bet that they'll want him to take that incentive spirometer home with him, and if he is polite and takes it with him, it'll go into the trash as soon as he can find a bin.

Recover smoothely, jonmc; breathe deep and save the home Percs for nighttime so you can sleep well. Walk. Pee. Eat. Go easy on the beer as long as you're taking narcotic analgesics.

My thoughts are with mrs mc as well. Convalescents can be cranky.
