*** For dame, who has a tender head today. This is the opposite of a shouting thread, because we luv you. No shouting! Only whispering...
Ok bye. I'm going to my favorite place in the whole world now - the fabric store. I love love love fabric. It's better than going to a museum or a film or a great restaurant. I think I have a fabric fetish.
So Long, Farewell, Auf Wiedersehen, Adieu.
Adieu, Adieu, to Yieu and Yieu and Yieu.
I saw thousands of pumpkins last night
come floating in on the tide,
bumping up against the rocks and
rolling up on the beaches;
it must be Halloween in the sea.
I'm back. I bought a black and white checked flannel and about 8 yards of a black twill that has rust and lime green skinny stripes in it. I have no idea what I'm going to do with it but it was only 2.00 a yard. Heh. I also bought a yard of a really nice olive green damask, and a yard of red toile de jouy. I love fabric! I think I said that already.
Now I'm off to make dinner and plot what I'm going to do with all of this material...
i taught myself to knit last week by staring at a sweater, because i had some pretty yarn. was pretty impressed with myself for that. making a scarf. if i could loot a fabric store--
back later, dollie
There's a lot of protein in romaine lettuce and in spinach, matteo. Have a nice salad! And I'd like some of that tea, thank you. I'm trying a black tea called Prince of Wales right now - it's fantastic. I adore tea, and right now my main loves are this Prince of Wales, and a chai from Thailand.
ethylene, that's awesome that you taught yourself how to knit. About a year ago I came across a teaching site that had a great video of a woman knitting. The person holding the camera stood behind her and filmed her while she went through a perl row and a knit row. I wish to hell I could find that site again! What does the scarf look like?
it's a long thin pale blue and i think i'll edge it with this fluffy grey stuff i also have for reasons i don't know.
i don't know the words for anything, i just fake it. these fiber arts all seem to be based off the same knotting and looping as play crafts and ancient arts. i'm sure i'll eventually read something to tell me what it is i'm actually doing. i'll take a pic of it sometime and maybe you can tell me.
(vocally venting seems to have some balming after effects, even if only a certain brain tingly regret... another reason i should endeavor to be stageworthy again, like that's gonna make the priority list--
--like i told you, dear ico, i love october but i never loves me back
I once was a dull boring house wife
With nothing to speak of at all
Save the loves and lamentations,
The trials and temptations
Of the woman across the hall
But now I've a job--I'm quite witty
My conversation it sparkles like wine
Regarding the trials and temptations,
The heartbreaks and tribulations
Of the woman whose desk is by mine.
I seem to remember a poem to that effect from the Oxford Book of Light Verse. I have yet to find it online. I don't understand that--it speaks a universal truth.
two large containers of fabrics i've been picking through are feeling even fuzzier than some of them are towards you both.
